Epocilla is a genus of the spider family Salticidae (jumping spiders). These spiders are primarily natives of southeast Asia. As most jumping spiders, they hunt prey by jumping, secured to a location by a thread of silk. I found this jumper on my car bonnet/trunk, maybe come from nearby tree. It measures about 10mm.

The Epocilla calcarata ♂ way back in 2014 when my first encounter with it.

Trees nearby the carpark, possible habitat of the Epocilla calcarata ♂.
