Omoedus ephippigera ♀ (Selangor)

Also known as Bumblebee Jumper, this common spider was previously known as "Pystira ephippigera". It is easily recognised in the field by the contrasting black and yellow bands on its abdomen, somewhat resembling a miniature bumblebee. Also it has a relatively high cephalothorax, in relation to its abdomen. Its diet appears to include a high propotion of ants. This jumper measures about 5mm.
