This particular spider appears to be widely distributed from India to Indonesia. The clypeus (face) of the female somewhat resembles those of female Evarcha flavocincta and are often misidentified. The female display unique crescent-shaped patterns on the abdomen. Females are often slow and curious, and builds a silk chamber (often on the underside of leaves) as a home. I found this female on foliage outside my office. This female measures about 9mm.

This is where I found the female Hyllus semicupreus.
